Although Windows XP has been receiving security updates and patches since April 2014, there are still running at the most unexpected places, including hospitals, state-run computers, or, more recently, a spacecraft simulator.
The last such discovery comes from him French astronaut Thomas Pesquet, who observed that the 15 old operating system feeds one simulator of the Soyuz space ship in Russia.
It all started with one video που αναρτήθηκε στο Twitter και που αποκάλυπτε ένα πρόβλημα που αντιμετώπιζε ο simulator during its use. Pesquet, looking from outside the Soyuz simulator, noticed something a little unexpected on the computer screen that powers all the spacecraft's systems. It had a Windows XP wallpaper, which was a strong indication that the simulator was running a 15-year-old operating system.
Of course, this does not necessarily mean that Windows is to blame for the problems, but if it is running an unsupported one software on such a device then there are many chances that it is to blame.
On the other hand, it is most likely that the Russians do not have these Windows XP systems connected to the internet and that's why they are still in use.
