The WordPress hosting platform (WordPress.com) has announced a new domain purchase package. The package contains the registration of the domain of your interest for 100 years and is intended for users who want to ensure a lifelong digital legacy.
The new 100-year package is designed to offer users "the ultimate security and longevity for their digital presence." It comes at a cost of $38.000 or $380 per year of the plan.
There are also average domain registrations ranging from one year to a maximum of 10 years. Nevertheless the new WordPress package allows users to protect the domain of their interest for 100 years.
The new purchase package also comes with other features, such as multiple content backups in geographically distributed data centers, unlimited bandwidth and 24/7 "personalized" support.
The company also claims that the new package comes with "improved proprietary protocols" and "superior quality" managed hosting.
In a statement, the company said the offer could be used by families who want to preserve their digital assets such as stories, photos, audio and video, or by founders who want to protect and document their company's history.
