Apple's updated Apple MacBook Pro was presented with somewhat mixed reactions last year due to their specifications. Instead of using the latest Kaby Lake chip, Apple chose Skylake's previous generation chips.
That's what changed at WWDC 2017, as Apple updated all the Appliances MacBook and MacBook Pro with Kaby Lake chips adding some other improvements.
The procase of new chips is not going to dramatically improve the performance of the devices and there is no reason to upgrade if you bought one computer of the company last year. But there are some subtle advantages that should be mentioned.
You can read the list of specifications if you want from here and here, you just have to know that the Kaby Lake chip will not offer enormous difference from Skylake. It's somewhere around 10 percent faster, depending on its type workς που κάνετε, αν και το Kaby Lake πιθανότατα θα προσφέρει τη μεγαλύτερη βελτίωση στα chip της σειράς Υ στο MacBook των 12 ιντσών. Θα προσφέρει επίσης καλύτερες ενσωματωμένες γραφικές παραστάσεις και μεγαλύτερη διάρκεια ζωής της battery, although Apple does not officially mention any improvements to the latter feature.
A big advantage of Kaby Lake that has little difference from Skylake in results with processing power is a hardware decoder for 4K video with protection copyright protection (DRM).
Most 4K shows and movies have additional encryption to prevent piracy and require special hardware for decoding. That's why there are a few computers that can play Netflix on 4K. Apple with upgraded computers supports the feature though it should turn on before you can play the 4K DRM-protected video.
I imagine it's only a matter of time, and although the MacBook Retina is not 4K, the extra feature will be highly appreciated.
Another subtle improvement is that Apple has boosted SSDs that will be "up to 50 percent" faster. This is 3,2 GBps read and 2,2 GBps write speeds (tested on 512 GB disks). If you do a lot of photo or video editing, you will welcome those speeds that are probably more noticeable than the processor upgrade.
Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro 15 inch now comes with AMD Radeon Pro 555 in the lower configuration.
Pricing remained largely the same, except for the MacBook Pro without the Touch Bar starting with $ 1.299 thanks to a new storage format of 128 GB.
