Back in the days of Windows XP, there was a third-party utility called xp-AntiSpy that allowed users to disable certain features in the operating system. The app had privacy settings like blocks on telemetry, services, launchers and more and acted like a kind of anti-spyware.
The latest version of the software was released in December 2015 as a beta, and added support for Windows 10.
A new utility based on xp-AntiSpy is now available, named xd-Antispy. It was developed by GitHub user Belim, who is also behind another popular Windows app called Winpilot.
The developer reports that the “xp” in the utility name has been replaced with “xd”, which stands for “eXtreme Defense”.
Like the original app, xd-AntiSpy allows users to disable spyware and bloatware such as ads, certain Microsoft Edge features, telemetry, and more.
4.12.7 version
