A hacker allegedly sells 200 million user Yahoo data to Dark Web and Yahoo knows it.
The 'Peace' hacker is known for his leaks of high-profile sites such as MySpace and LinkedIn. So this time there are 200 million Yahoo accounts available for sale on the Dark Web's The Real Deal marketplace.
In an email to Motherboard, Yahoo stated that "we are aware of the situation…"
Below is the canned text that uses all the pages that have been hacked from time to time by hackers:
"We are committed to protection της ασφάλειας των πληροφοριών των χρηστών μας και παίρνουμε κάθε τέτοια αξίωση πολύ σοβαρά.
Motherboard claims that the data they include dates of birth, usernames, passwords and in some cases the back-up of account emails.
Hacker 'Peace' claims that the data is from "2012 probably," and is asking for 3 Bitcoins (about $1.800) to hand over his database.
Motherboard tested dozens of Yahoo usernames and found most of them to be active, although the email addresses post officey are inactive.
However if you continue to use the company as service of your email, it would be a good idea to change your password immediately.
