A former employee of the Russian search engine Yandex was sentenced to two suspended years in prison for stealing the service's source code, which he later tried to sell. 
According to Russia's Kommersant, Dmitry Korobov stole the source code and algorithms to finance the company of, but was arrested before completing the cochange. According to information Dmitry Korobov was looking for buyers even offline.
The strangest thing is that he did not have very high ambitions for theft, since he was only asking 25.000 dollars plus 250.000 rubles (about 3.500 dollars extra).
According to an anonymous source cited in the Kommersant publication, the source code and algorithms could catch "billions of rubles on the black market, which, in fact, would represent a significant part of Yandex's value," since "the searching machine is the main service of the company".
Korobov was caught when he went to meet a buyer he met in darknet, having already drawn the attention of the Russian Federal Security Agency (FSB).
According to LiveInternet, Yandex holds 57% of the market share of searches made from within Russia.
Google is in second place with an approximate 35%.
