The developers of Zorin OS they announced today the release of Zorin OS 16 stable, a version that uses Xfce DE, and is optimized to run faster than Windows on very old computers.
It is based on the latest long-term supported Ubuntu 20.04 of Canonical. Zorin OS 16 runs with Linux kernel version 5.8 the same version as in Ubuntu 20.04.
In addition to better performance, stability and improvements security, provides support for more hardware, such as Intel's recently announced 11th Gen Core processors, upcoming AMD processors, GPUs and other peripherals. This means Zorin OS will work with more computers and devices.
The latest version of the Zorin OS project 16 as we mentioned provides updated hardware compatibility, and updated software for connection on Android devices, but also an updated version of LibreOffice.
Zorin OS 16 supports out of the box Snap, Flatpak and Flathub services, which will make it easier to install applications. It runs the Linux 5.0 kernel series and brings all the latest Ubuntu 20.04 LTS software and security updates.
