The developers of Zorin OS they announced Zorin OS 17.2, a version that uses Xfce DE, is currently being released and is optimized to run faster than Windows on very old computers.
It is based on the long-term supported Ubuntu 20.04 by Canonical. Zorin OS 17.2 runs with Linux 6.5.0 kernel the same version as in Ubuntu LTS 22.04.
In addition to better performance, stability, and security enhancements, it provides support for more hardware, such as the recently announced 11th generation Intel Core processors, upcoming AMD processors, GPUs, and other peripherals. This means that the Zorin operating system will run on more computers and devices.
The latest version of the Zorin OS 17.2 project as mentioned provides updated hardware compatibility, and updated software for connecting to Android devices, as well as an updated version of LibreOffice.
Zorin OS 17.2 supports out of the box Snap, Flatpak and Flathub services, which will make it easier to install applications. It runs the Linux 6.5.0 kernel series and brings all the latest Ubuntu 22.04 LTS software and security updates.
