“Zorin OS 18.1 comes with Linux kernel 6.17, the same version used by Ubuntu 25.10.”

Zorin OS 18 also brings OneDrive file integration to the Online Accounts feature if you sign in to your MS 365 account, which is useful if you plan to switch from Windows 10 (which will no longer be supported as of October 14, 2025) to Linux. The distribution comes with better installation file detection for popular Windows applications.

“If you’re migrating from Windows, you’ll receive personalized instructions on how to get the most compatible versions of your favorite apps on Zorin OS. This is yet another reason why Zorin OS is the ideal choice for Windows users making the switch,” says the Zorin OS team.

Under the hood, Zorin OS 18 is based on Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS (Noble Numbat). It comes with the PipeWire audio server backend by default for better audio quality with lower latency.
