We are living in a new era (this is not technology news)

The funny thing about Trump is that even before he became president, he was being satirized as a symbol of America's excess and tasteless consumerism since the 1980s (Trumplica).

Trump has some special characteristics: egotism to the level of narcissism, the belief that he is above the law, and the ability to lie shamelessly.

The fact that this guy was elected twice and made history as the second person to serve two non-consecutive terms (the first was Grover Cleveland) is… disturbing, to put it mildly.

But if Trump is the one receiving so much negative publicity, then why does he keep winning?

Because the writers want him to win, not because he's actually smart. The only reason Trump is at the top is because someone needs one. powerful rich president who is bulletproof, lightningproof, windproof and waterproof… After the January 6 episode, Republicans kind of disowned Trump. Well, never mind, after a while they returned to worshipping the super duper patriot.

Trump was once a USFL team owner, boxing promoter, WWF promoter, real estate developer, and finally reality TV host. And yet, no one sees him that way anymore.
But there are many who don't think of Trump as a political figure or celebrity but as a shady businessman.

The return of Donald Trump to the US presidency (2025) sent shockwaves through Europe, upending transatlantic security and economic relations. Europe has since found itself in a state of forced adjustment, with its leaders realizing that the era of absolute dependence on American protection is over.

Of course, as soon as they start to adapt, the absolute leader changes his mind and we start over.

Greece

We have entered an era where military superpowers have the say, while diplomatic powers, like Europe, cannot participate in the game.

At this time, Greece is in one of the hottest regions in the world, with a powerful and aggressive neighbor. We are militarily strong, but we are not a superpower. For centuries now, we have relied on alliances (Russia, England, France, Israel, USA) and have confrontations from the safety of our couch. Let's not think about what will happen when the geopolitical deck is shuffled again. The USA is our ally, but it is also an ally of Turkey.

What will happen if Trump's deals do not take into account international law? What will we be asked to accept, when there is the example of Denmark and Greenland? Diplomatic sources say that we should be worried if Mitsotakis suddenly receives an invitation from Trump because we do not know what he will ask for. Fortunately, we have not heard anything about an invitation.

The audacity

Who chose Budapest as the meeting place (on the Ukraine issue), President Trump or Putin? a journalist once asked White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt, only to get the blunt answer (what to ask after that), “your mother"!

A few days later, the… phenomenon repeated itself. A journalist asked a Pentagon spokesman why Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was wearing a tie that resembled the Russian flag (red, white, and blue wide stripes) during a meeting with Zelenskyy.

"Because your... mother chose it for him," was the answer.

Do it like Trump, without pretense.

It makes sense, in this day and age. Instead of each spokesperson struggling to justify the unjustifiable (because that's their job), they answer with a "because that's how your mother wanted it" and... it gets out of hand.

We are definitely living in a new era..
