A few days ago we announced the new one ZUK Z1. ZUK is a newly created company that is actually supported by Lenovo. As we mentioned earlier, it announced its first smartphone.
But the most interesting thing is that during the announcement, a very awesome prototype was presented.
As you can see in the following photo published by GizmoChina, Zuk showed off a prototype of a smartphone that appears to have a transparent display.
Thus texts and images appear on the screen, which due to their transparency, displays a see-through effect. We're not sure what usability a transparent screen could have, but one possible use for it could be with applications augmented reality.
Note that the original shown in the photo may actually be just a screen, without a device. The transparent screen you see above is not the first to appear. Earlier this year Samsung also introduced its own transparent screen.
The company did not announce whether and when we will see such a device on the market, but it is certainly a very interesting idea. We can not yet know its usability at a practical level, but as a teaser used by the newly established company seems to have worked very well indeed.
