Critical infrastructure security measures for the September elections

The Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office participated in a meeting to take technical security measures and address possible electronic attacks on critical infrastructure during the 20 / 09 / 2015.vote elections

The Greek Police's Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate, in every electoral process, actively participates through its Head and other executives in the Election Security Coordination Group and the Electoral Cyber ​​Security Group operating under it.

In this context, the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate, in view of the upcoming parliamentary elections, participated yesterday (01-09-2015) in a preliminary technical meeting, with the aim of better preparation, and the coordination of all the agencies involved, to take preventive measures for the safe and smooth operation of the elections and dealing with any electronic attacks on the critical electronic-digital systems.

The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction and the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate was invited by the General Directorate of Electronicand Elections and participated together with officials from the said Ministry, the National Cyber ​​Attacks Response Authority (CERT) and the Prime Minister's Office.

In particular, the Directorate of Electronic Crime Prosecution has requested that officials be placed at the headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administrative Reconstruction and, in particular, at the critical points in which the information systems supporting the electoral process are in place and in order to prevent attacks and protect them against any malicious energy.

In the next meeting, technical issues will be identified and the key contact points of all the actors involved in the electoral process will be defined, as well as the critical points of hosting the information systems, to which the specialized police personnel will be assigned.
