Beware of Spam on the 2014 World Cup in Brazil

2014-World-Cup Spam

In a world event such as the World Cup in Brazil, it is no surprise that the try to take advantage of naive people and reap money by building attractive traps FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014.

Mr. Andrew Conway from her blog Cloudmark present an email sample from scammers trying something similar. This type of fraud encourages the victim to give a small down payment, with the promise of a larger amount of money to come to them.

Believe it or not, this trick is older age than the internet and has withstood the test of time while adapting to the digital environment. The sample discovered by Cloudmark informs the victim that his email has been selected and is the winner of the total of two million GBP, as a result of a lottery of the FIFA World Cup 2014.

This is a very obvious case where one can easily detect fraud from a mile away, but Cloudmark, a reputable company that deals with the threats that come with messages, notes that their systems have caught what they call "gray mail", legally that is, marketing messages related to spam.

That is, messages that are not easily controlled by the rules of anti-spam filters and can very easily reach the user's inbox. In Brazil, for example, there are no anti-spam rules and inboxes are constantly being "bombarded" with spam of all kinds. "
