We should mention that this is not a contest that will win you money or any other big prize. But if the you are among the finalists, you will have the satisfaction of viewing the systems of millions of Ubuntu users around the world.

“Whether on desktop, phone or tablet, your photo can be the first thing people see of Ubuntu from the Ubuntu welcome screen or on their desktop," Nathan Haines reports in a recent post on his blog.

How can you take part in the competition?

First, you'll need to have a Flickr account, which usually requires a Yahoo email address (if you're still using the service). Then you should join the Flickr group “Ubuntu 17.04 Free Culture Showcase - Wallpapers"

Make sure you read the rules carefully before submitting your images to be uploaded to the Flickr page.

The contest will run until March 5, 2017.

If you still have questions, you can read more information on the dedicated Ubuntu wiki at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuFreeCultureShowcase.
