BackBox Linux is a Ubuntu-based distribution used for security assessments and penetration testing.
The project was just released in a new stable version, BackBox Linux 5. The new version upgrades key distribution components and fixes many bugs.
"The BackBox team is pleased to announce the BackBox Linux 5 update. It took a long time due to several development difficulties, but we worked hard and overcame them. In this important release, we've made some structural changes, removed obsolete tools, and added new ones. ”
ISO images for 32-bit and 64-bit architectures are available at the end of the publication.
New Linux 4.8 Kernel, and updated hacking tools Metasploit, OpenVAS, SE Toolkit, sqlmap, WPScan.
Anyone who uses older versions (BackBox 4.x) can upgrade to the latest version rather than reinstalling it.
