BackBox Linux is an Ubuntu-based distribution that usesfor security assessments and penetration testing.
The project has just released a new stable version, BackBox Linux 5. The new version basically upgrades components of the distribution and fixes many bugs.
"OR team of BackBox is pleased to announce the updated version of BackBox Linux 5. It took us a long time due to several development difficulties, but we worked hard and overcame them. In this major release we made some structural changes, removed outdated tools and added new ones.”
ISO images for architecture 32-bit and 64-bit are at the end of the post.
What's new:
New Linux 4.8 Kernel, and updated hacking tools Metasploit, OpenVAS, SE Toolkit, sqlmap, WPScan.
Anyone who uses older versions (BackBox 4.x) can upgrade to the latest version instead of doing a new one installation.
