Google Pagespeed Insights has changed. The company now seems to be using a "new" technology called Lighthouse. This technology was first introduced at Google I / O in 2017. Since then, it has evolved to help any web developer looking for better results.
Lighthouse is an automated tool open source to improve the quality of websites. You can run it on any website. It has controls for performance, accessibility, web applications and more.
You can run Lighthouse from Chrome DevTools, from the command line, or as a Node module. Give Lighthouse a URL to check, and a series of checks will start running on the page you are interested in.
It will then show you a report on what is happening with the page.
From there, you can use the red indicators as indicators of how you can improve your page. Each audit also provides you with a reference document that explains why the audit is important and how you can correct the errors.
