The Mageia distribution community released today the Mageia 7 Linux, a major release that brings updated packages and many new features for fans of a distribution that originated from the Mandriva project.

Almost years after the start of development, the Mageia 7 Linux operating system is now available for download and brings many of the latest GNU / Linux technologies and open source software. The new Mageia "wears" one of the latest cores of the Linux 5.1 series and has the latest graphics stack Mesa 19.1.

It supports Wayland and hybrid graphics cards and offers an extensive collection of games.

"As with the Mageia distribution, this version would not have happened without the help of our amazing community that gives us time to do what we do," says Donald Stewart. "

So a big thank you to everyone who helped package, develop, test and create QAs across all packages and ISOs, as well as to the translators, the documentation team, the sysadmins, the artists and everyone who helped traffic.

The new Mageia distribution now features a revamped υποδοχής που είναι πολύ πιο εύκολη στη χρήση για τους αρχάριους χρήστες. Συμπεριλαμβάνει μερικές από τις τελευταίες και καλύτερες εφαρμογές, όπως τον 67 and Chromium 73, LibreOffice 6.2.3 but also the package manager rpm 4.14.2.

It better supports ARM devices, especially for the AArch64 (ARM64) and ARMv7 architectures, which now have all the basic packages. DNF, Mageia's default package management system, now offers compressed Zchunk metadata support to help you save bandwidth when receiving updates.

You can download the new Mageia distribution directly for 32 bit and 64 bit architectures. The operating system is distributed as live ISO with KDE Plasma, GNOME and Xfce graphical environments, as well as the classic installation images for 32-bit and 64-bit computers.
