Google held its “Launch Night In” event, where it announced a number of products, including the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G. During the event, the company also showed some improvements coming to the mode image processing of Google Photos, which the company analyzes in a separate post on her blog.
The first in the list of features includes enhancements to suggestions that help users adjust the brightness or gradient of images. The application can provide suggestions based on what is in the image directly from a special tab, using machine learning. Suggestions include the ability to display only the colors of the subject or enhance the overall image with color corrections. The company says it will add more features that will be exclusive to Pixel to improve portraits, landscapes and more in the future.
For those who love to make manual changes and modifications to their photos, the company will provide detailed options for the editor, except from default brightness, color temperature, highlight settings and more. These options are placed in a carousel at the bottom, which can be tapped individually.
Another important advantagecase which will take place in editor is the Portrait Light feature that the company showed off at its event. The feature helps adjust and adjust lighting in portraits and even allows movement around the light source, helping to correct harsh shadows or uneven lighting on faces.
Also works on photos that were not taken using the portrait mode. Feature is currently exclusive to the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5. Support for more Pixel devices will be added in the future.
The Google Photos app is now available to all Android users. However, as mentioned earlier, the Portrait Light feature will only be available to users of the latest Pixel devices.
