Η installation The latest Windows updates can sometimes have disastrous results.
So there are many users who prefer not to update their system immediately, to make sure that there will be no errors or, at worst, not to delete data.
The operating system Microsoft doesn't have a built-in option to permanently prevent updates from being installed, but there are several ways to do so. One of them is the Kill-Update application.
It is one tool user-friendly that blocks Windows updates without you having to do much. The executable is around 350 KB in size and the program is portable, meaning you don't need to install it.
Just run the application with administrator privileges (right click on the executable and open as administrator), because it will have to manage system services.
Kill-Update is running in the background, and you will see a padlock icon on the system tray. Right-click on it and click "Locked". That was it, with two clicks you can prevent Windows updates.
If you want to update Windows, turn off the "Locked" option and it will allow you to update your operating system.
The mobile application does not prevent Windows Defender updates as it has another option that states "Windows Defender Allowed". The setting is not pre-enabled, so make sure you enable it if you are using Windows Defender.
Kill-Update is open source software and Virus Total displays it clean.
