New method of biometric identification of a computer user

The typing mode will be…

keyboard

The computer will recognize its owner by the way they type and generally by the way they "behave" when using their computer.

The New Approach

The new concept gaining ground belongs to a new field called 'behavioral biometrics'. The idea is to control the identity of a computer owner from the way it is typing, but also from its general behavior. How fast does anyone type, how quickly the mouse moves, how quickly it chooses the programs, files or apps it uses, how much time it spends in each program and application if someone working on a corporate computer when it comes out of the office disables or not his computer and other relevant data are, according to the devotees of this idea, a biometric profile unique to each computer user.

So if a computer knows this profile, it will know if the person who tries to use it is also the real ... his boss. Various companies around the world such as Biocatch in Israel and Behaviosec in Sweden are active in the development of biometric systems to explore the possibility of developing such a security system.

Fears

Some experts, however, express their disbelief in the development of such a system since, as presented in the first phase, at least the computer in order to be able to check the identity of a user must first have used it for a period of time to allow the computer to gather a sufficient number of biometric behavioral parameters.

But if someone wants to see or intercept something specific from another person's computer, it will take a minimum of time to do it and with a minimum of moves, especially if they know where to look. This way the computer will not have time to proceed with the identification to block the attacker. THE of this new idea will soon answer whether these fears have a basis or whether the new identification system is completely secure.
