Thanks to a new nanotechnology, the program GREENLION has doubled the battery life of mobile devices and electric vehicles, even if the batteries have been charged and discharged more than 1.000 times. This was achieved by replacing graphite, which is used in lithium-ion batteries and has a low chargeability, with an improved, higher-capacity version of germanium. The research team ensured that the technology is scalable, low-cost and low-cost energy, making it more "green" and commercially viable.
