OTE watches you after their surrender

I am one of the thousands of Greeks using OTE's wired network to have internet, as for my calls, I mostly use mobile telephony. For several years I had a connection to 24MB (you know the one who only has the name, unless you have the right to have a home next to Kafa, from the original German letters of the Kabelverzweiger cable).

The link I had since it was released in the Greek market (with quite a bitter price) until 2 years ago, which I was forced through cuts to take the intolerable 2MB for 26 euros per month.

For two years I downloaded patiently and stubbornly, until recently I passed one mobile and above the discussion, I hear about a fixed internet connection at 24MB for 14 euros per month. I immediately ordered one, providing the necessary paperwork.

The next day I received a phone from OTE.

Good evening, we are calling you from OTE and I η, I will not write the dialogue, but I will stay in the main points.

The call was made to make me an offer as they saw that they were losing me as a customer. My questions were: why are you making me the offer now? Why don't you call me for so long to offer me something better?, why don't you take care of your customers when you have them? Of course, there were no answers except through diplomatic channels. But to the last question I had an answer that pissed me off. How is it explained that the only wired network provider in Greece is most of all telephone companies that gives lines?

"It's the competition, sir," he replies, "if we sell cheaply, what will the companies gain?" My last question was: what about the customer? I did not get an answer. I gave it to her. Then my lady client will go from where I went and go. Let's look at EETT.

The companies' games are well-known and not at all foreign to the buying public. But when a conversation like the one above happens it reminds you what games are being played behind your back. The buying public that supports companies like OTE is less important than the competition with other companies. Let's not deal with drag lines or phone tech support, because someone might have .

While he has already done it of VDSL, some insist on selling the internet as a luxury item….

  1. exactly petros12, the customer pays to have services and does not. If it has them, they are very expensive, and without consistent technical support.

  2. ote had previously managed as a state and with a monopoly to have made a name. after it was sold to the Germans it was abandoned, there is no modernization, no competition, no interest in customers, only shrinkage, aging and gifts from the state for
