Η company games Activision Blizzard will acquire King Digital Entertainment, the well-known developer of Candy Crush Saga, for $5,9 billion in cash.
King, for those who did not know, went out on the stock market last March in a public listing of 500 million dollars at a cost per share of 24 dollars.
Its initial valuation was around 7 billion dollars. In the transaction of its acquisition, its shares cost 18 dollars one.
This market will give Activision Blizzard the opportunity to enter easily into mobile devices as well as social networks.
The company already dominates the PC gaming space with major franchises such as Call of Duty and World of Warcraft, while it now has 200 more casual titles, including two of the top five mobile games from King.
So the company now has over 1.000 titles in the bookcase of, including very popular games such as Diablo, Destiny and Guitar Hero for consoles.
