The adult site Adult Friend Finder is intended for people looking for casual sex and has a subscriber base of tens of millions of users around the world. The company allegedly did not know the incident.
The company issued a statement today stating that "it has just been informed of a possible security issue and leak of its data" and that it is currently making efforts to understand the full extent of the incident.
The authorities are already involved in the research and MANDIANT experts have been called in by FireEye to assess the damage, and provide remedial solutions and measures to prevent similar events in the future.
The people affected by the leak reach 3.900.000, according to Britain's Channel 4 News. Leaked email addresses, addresses, names, dates of birth, zip codes, sexual preferences, gender, and the IPs of computers of users. All data exists online through the anonymous Tor network.
