#AleppoIsBurning: A boycott on Facebook for Aleppo

Thousands of social media users and more at , change their profile photos to red in an effort to draw public attention to an attack by the Syrian government in Aleppo.

The hashtags #MakeFacebookRed and #AleppoIsBurning are used to report the ongoing attack, which has killed more than 240 people in the last week and has forced many families to leave.

The civil war of Syria, now in its sixth year, has killed an estimated 400.000 people and displaced millions.

Another round of peace talks is set to begin in Geneva later this month.
