Almost half of the world is in social media

To date, there are over 3 registered billions of people who have a social media account around the world, which means that almost half of the world's population spends some of their lives to update their status or tell their news.

A new report, written by Hootsuite and We Are Social, found that there are 3.028 millions of active social media users around the world. That's a really big number, especially if you think the Earth's population counts in 7.524 millions of people.

In short, about 40 percent of the world's population the social media, and only a small fraction of the estimated 3.819 billion people with on the Internet around the world do not have at least one social profile. The users phones are a large part of the base, with 2.780 billion active users.

The number of users is huge, and according to the report, which came from a wide range of international sources and their social platforms, will continue to grow. There has been a 4% increase in total global users (equivalent to 121 million people) since April. This is about… .. one million new users a day.

Facebook, as expected, is the king on social networking platforms, with approximately 2.047 million active users per month (MAU), while other companies, WhatsApp and Messenger, rank third and fourth respectively. Instagram closely follows 7's position, with approximately 700 million MAUs.
