A new Phishing campaign started rolling out on Internet. It tries to convince users that they have earned coupons for 90% off Amazon purchases. Of course the goal of scammers is to steal login information.
The email is reportedly coming from the Amazon support team and claims to be the lucky customer of choice as the company celebrates 20a's birthday.
He goes on to say that more than a million people have been selected for a discount on productof the company, but only ten thousand have won a coupon that provides a 90% discount on every product sold by Amazon.
At the end of the message scammers with a link prompt potential victims to claim their voucher. According to OnlineThreatAlerts, the URL points to a by clicking here phishing that directs the user to log into their Amazon account. Of course the victim's credentials are sent directly to the scammers.
The message is crafted so as to incite the potential victim to act click directly to the malicious link as it states that the coupon expires in 24 hours.
The message is poorly crafted and seems to be a scam, but that does not mean that there will not be enough users to fall into the trap.
