The iPhone 14 series offers emergency SOS messages via satellite. This feature allows those facing an emergency in a region without a mobile signal, connect to an orbiting satellite to report the situation to an Apple center.
The company then notifies an emergency service provider to get those at risk the help they need.

Last February, Dr. Samsung's TM Roh, the head of the company's mobile eXperience unit, explained why Samsung didn't have satellite connectivity support with the series Galaxy S23. Roh said, "When the time is right, the infrastructure and the technology is ready, then of course with the Samsung Galaxy, we will look at adopting this feature." That day could come early next year with the launch of the Galaxy S24 series.

With the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro set to launch next October, we're probably less than three months away from finding out how this feature will work on supported Pixel models. On the other hand, the final and stable version of Android 14 is only two to three weeks away from the official launch, and it is possible that we will hear more details about the upcoming feature very soon.
