Google today announced its launch previews for its developers Android Nougat 7.1, which has app shortcuts on the home screen, supports circular icons and image keyboards.
On 11 October, Google said this release will be released later this month, and seems to have kept its promise.
This developer preview release is a bit different from the ones we've known, because it can be installed on some other Appliances and not exclusively on Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.
The new Android Nougat 7.1 is currently available on a very limited number of Android devices: It's coming to the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P phones and the Pixel C convertible tablets.
"Developer Preview will expand to other devices in November," Google engineering vice president Dave Burke wrote in a blog post.
So if you're signed in to Android Beta and have the right device, you'll get the new version without having to do anything.
