Andy Rubin, developer and developer of Android, is preparing to release their own smartphone called Essential.
O Andy Ruben is its co-founder companys Android Inc, which was sold to Google in 2005. He oversaw Android development at Google until 2014, when he began managing the robotics division.
After working for nine years on Google, left the company 2014 and launched a hardware hardware maker under the brand name Playground Global.
Bloomberg reported today that Revin is preparing to launch a new company, called Essential Products Inc., which will obviously include the smartphone it already has in the making. The new company has already hired a group of 40 people from Apple Inc and Google.
Bloomberg also says they are working on a suite of consumer hardware products, including mobile and smart home appliances. The company's main work will be a high-end smartphone with curved screen at the edges.
Rubin has already registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office goods and services such as smartphones, tablets, accessories and operating software for mobile phones, so it's unclear if its devices will run Android.
Rubin's smartphone will be made of top-quality materials and have a modular design, seeing that there is demand for such devices on the market.
The new phone is expected to compete with Google's Pixel and iPhone of Apple. Apparently, Foxconn will be the company responsible for manufacturing the new phone. It is expected to hit the market in the middle of this year, at a price similar to the iPhone 7.
