Strong DDoS attacks have been received by the Central Bank of Cyprus website as part of the Anonymous #OpIcarus campaign.
The campaign #OpIcarus of Anonymous, has begun a few days ago as an attempt to bring more attention to the elite class that controls the world through the financial sector.
The first goal of the group was the Bank of Greece website, which has since recovered, but not before the massive DDoS attacks stopped. It even made the front page of all its major news outlets world. The Bank of Greece, however, has not escaped the risk attacks according to hacker @JustAnotherNode, who says the attacks will continue for a long, long time.
Today's DDoS attacks on the Central Bank of Cyprus are part of Anonymous's generalized campaign, which was published on the internet with a list of targets to hit, among which there were enough big names like the US Federal Reserve Bank, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Bank of England.
It remains to be seen whether teams actually launch attacks against these larger targets that clearly measure up protections is top notch. However, he took responsibility for the recent attacks on the Central Bank of Cyprus a group of Anonymous named DragonSec.
