New anonymous blows: In the week that passed us on Monday, 14 December, a massive DDoS 40 Gbps attack hit the DNS Turkey servers run by NIC.tr.
NIC.tr is the service of Turkey that manages the country's main DNS servers and domains in .tr.
In a video posted on YouTube, Anonymous took responsibility for the attack, indicating that it was part of the internet war against ISIS, and the #OpISIS campaign.
According to the group, "Turkey supports ISIS by buying oil from them and treating its fighters."
Anonymous also said that their actions against ISIS in Turkey did not stop, but would continue to attack the country's DNS servers, banks, government buildings, airports, military and private facilities and connections.
In the DDoS attacks on Turkey's DNS servers last week, hackers managed to hit five of Turkey's top nameservers, who eventually surrendered to pressure and went offline on Monday night, taking over 400.000 sites using domains in .tr.
Servers reverted to Monday, but access to .tr sites was limited to a few trusted IPs, with most Turkish websites isolated from the Internet.
The attacks continued in the following days, on a smaller scale, with the Turkish DNS service "recovering" and coming to full operation by the end of the week.
