Geoffrey Commander does not match their profile Anonymous. Others can once again say that his profile matches exactly that of the chektists.
He is a successful musician who earned a lively guitar playing for ELO and Elton John. At 66, however, he began to experiment with the term hacktivist.
According to the indictment issued last October, Geoffrey Commander was one of a group of 13 defendants who hacked Bank of America websites, Mastercard, as part of Operation Anonymous opPayback.
Commander and 12 co-defendants did not have such a high profile as the PayPal 13 team, who was brought to court around the same time, but charged for the same crime: using one freely available tool called LOIC (the initials of Low Orbit Ion Cannon) took part in a denial-of-service.
According to TheVerge, Commander today lives in England but was arrested during a visit to the US that had gone on vacation, and he condemned this week. The judge downgraded the Commander's charge to misdemeanor, and the sentence imposed on him was just 10 days imprisonment.
Ο Commander ανέφερε ότι θεωρεί την επίθεση denial-of-Service a form of protest against the banks that "brought his country to its knees".
