The James Bond weapon, aimed at curbing violence, was invented by the German company Armatix. The Smart System iP1, as it is called, works only in the hands of its owner and in conjunction with a "smart" watch.
According to the manufacturer, the watch sends radio waves to the gun, unlocking it and thus preventing it from being used by someone other than its legitimate owner. Without the accompanying watch, at Armatix, the gun is locked and its use is impossible.
Hi-tech weaponry
The state of the weapon is visible from the light marking on its back: when it is green it means that the weapon is unlocked, while when the gun is red, the weapon is locked. As the imaginative company describes on its official website, the gun is automatically deactivated each time it leaves the watch and goes out of its reach.
"Technology can help address modern social issues, such as violence and the use of weapons," said billionaire American investor of innovative projects, who are among the financiers and hi-tech weapon, Ron Congoue. For example, if a burglar enters the house of the smart weapon owner, he can not immobilize him, take it and use it against him.
In the next phase, the company Armatix thinks to focus on the creation of "wearers" of devices, e.g. intelligent watches that will communicate with other weapons and will inform their owner if they are moved or used by another person. Another idea is to create a fingerprint recognition system for the owner.
George is still wondering what he is doing here….
