Acer has announced two new laptops with Windows 10 at a very reasonable price. They are called the Aspire One Cloudbook 11 and 14, and are designed to be used as a Chromebook, focusing on cloud storage.
Both the 11-inch and 14-inch versions of the Aspire One Cloudbooks series run Windows 10. They use Intel Celeron processors, with 2GB of RAM and 1366 x 768 LED backlit displays. They also feature 802.11ac wireless, a full-sized one door HDMI, two USB and an SD card slot.
Systems will be released with a storage disc on 16, 32 or 64 GB, but this in conjunction with 100 GB and 1 TB onedrive cloud storage for one year (subject to agreement). The choice of 1TB storage is for the larger of the two laptops.
Cloudbooks are essentially designed to work the same way as Chromebooks – they don't offer large hard drives, and they rely on the Cloud. Chromebooks have the advantage of running Chrome OS on platform of Google, which means they don't use a lot of system resources.
Prices now begin with 169 dollars for the 11 inch model and reach 199 dollars for the 14-inch system. The smallest laptop will be released later this month, while the biggest laptop will be released in September.
