Assembly programming language, written and used for missions of Apollo to the moon, is found again at Top 10 with the most popular programming languages.
The explanation for this popularity is simple. The reason is IoT (Internet of Things), the microAppliances that is, connected to the internet, where the most modern and bulky programming languages cannot run on them, due to the small memory and storage space.
Decades after the developers' indifference to the Assembly, language is once again at high demand. The announcement came from Tiobe, a company that manages it Tiobe Index, a site that deals with scoring for the most popular programming language.
The score ranks languages not on how many lines of code uses each for the same job, but based on Internet searches, employer requirements, courses, and the number of trained engineers worldwide.
Assembly ranks tenth in this index, with Java and C alternating at the top for the past decade. Java is this month's leader, followed by C, C++, Python, C#, PHP, JavaScrpt, Visual Basic .NET, Perl, and Assembly.
