The iLok2 is a USB dongle that works like a device software piracy protection license storage. While iLok1 allowed owners to carry up to 118 licenses, iLok2 can carry up to 500.
Over the years, the Ilok protection has gained great attraction within the professional sound community. Companies that develop sophisticated and often expensive software such as Avid's Pro Tools used Ilok to protect their creations from pirates.
