The German institute AV-TEST has announced the results of a new series of antivirus tests, this time for Mac OS X. Which are the best products better safetys for Apple operating systems?
Mac OS X is traditionally referred to as the safest alternative to Windows. But that doesn't necessarily mean that OS X is safer because, as explained by AV-TEST, attackers who attack Apple systems generally use more advanced techniques to breach the security of a computer without an application security.
The institute tested a total of 13 security products and reports that only 8 from them managed to block 100 percent of malware.
Avast, Avira, Bitdefender, ESET, Kaspersky, SentinelOne, Sophos, and Norton Security are the security products that offer 100% security from malware according to the company.
But although AV-TEST claims that AVAST is one of the most effective security products on OS X, it slows the computer much while scanning files.
