Avast security company warns them its customers for a spam campaign with malware which leverages the company's name in an effort to increase its success rate.
The emails come with the title "Your order details and additional information" [ Your Order details and Additional information] and appear to be from “noreply@avast.com”.
Fake alerts reproduce legitimate messages sent by Avast to those who purchase licenses for its products. The difference is that the serial number mentioned in the email does not exist in the Avast database.
Additionally, the attached file (avast-Antivirus-Order-Details.zip) is not actually a document, but a comeye malware detected as Win32:Malware [Gen].
Until Wednesday, when he posted the pronotice, Avast had observed over 12.500 samples of this particular malware.
