The two banks are claiming compensation over 5 million dollars from the accused Trustwave Holdings and Target.

The banks claim that the of Target's system were either undiscovered by Trustwave or ignored, giving hackers access to millions of card accounts and personal data, the lawsuit says.

About 40 million card payment records were stolen from the store along with 70 millions of other files containing company customer information such as addresses and phone numbers.

Να υπενθυμίσουμε ότι όλα τα δεδομένα της παραβίασης κυκλοφόρησαν ελεύθερα στο , and card numbers were for sale on underground forums. It was rather expected that someone would take legal action as millions of people were affected by this particular hack.

Of course, we also remind you that the trading company lost many opportunities to prevent hackers who were responsible for the unprecedented data breach. The fact that they did not immediately inform consumers is also important because it gave hackers the chance to use their card numbers in their disposal.

The lawsuit also states that the merchant shop has granted access to its network to a third-party vendor who has not followed accepted security practices.

So the attacking company faces dozens of possible lawsuits from banks that could claim damages for millions of dollars in damages.

Neither of them they have not made any statements.
