Binary Talk: Computer sends smoke messages to lasers

Τι είναι το Binary Talk; At the beginning of the 20th century, people simply communicated with each other over the airwaves. As the century closed, ideas for new transmissions began to emerge. Below you will see an unusual approach to visualizing the wireless world: Communication from one σε έναν άλλο χρησιμοποιώντας a of smoke.

Binary Talk was created by Niklas Isselburg and Jakob Kilian, students at the Köln International School of Design. The idea is simple. They type a phrase and o converts it to binary code. A loudspeaker sends it through a cloud of mist, making each “1” like a ring. The rings can "fly" a few meters, and hit the laser catcher, which is on the second computer. In this way the smoke rings are translated into the original text.

By making transmissions visible, Isselburg and Kilian hope to demonstrate the "apparent immateriality and infallibility of computer language." More simply, Binary Talk was created to remind us of the huge counter
