Two weeks ago, they were released rumors who wanted BlackBerry to develop one smartphone with Android operating system. According to the same rumors, the device would be released by the end of 2015.
Although sources close to the matter initially claimed that a Canadian company was already preparing one high-end smartphone with operating system Android, the latest rumors have BlackBerry planning a Low-end for emerging markets in Asian countries such as Indonesia, India and the Philippines.
But the company from Canada did not confirm the construction of the Android smartphone.
During an interview with CNBC, BlackBerry Managing Director John Chen was asked if his company is actually planning to release an Android smartphone, if it is released this year.
Ο Chen ανέφερε ότι η εταιρεία του "κατασκευάζει μόνο ασφαλή phones και το ΒlackBerry είναι το πιο ασφαλές τηλέφωνο."
So if they can find a way to ensure that the Android device will be safe they will move on.
The statement, of course, was very diplomatic, as it did not confirm or even ruled out the rumors that want BlackBerry to plan the release of an Android smartphone this year.
But let's say that the company announced the financial results of Q1 FY16, and it seems to have made available only 1.1 million smartphones during 2015.
Of course it can not be the expected results of the company, so rumors about Android BlackBerry seem to make sense.
We will see what will happen in the coming months.
