Η BMW is working on the development of a new remote-controlled parking system, which can even be operated by a smartwatch.
Η εταιρεία αναφέρει ότι ο guide can activate the mode "Remote Valet Parking Assistant”, through an application, which guides the car to the parking position.
The system works with sensors laser, which scan the surrounding area to avoid collisions. The operation is done in connection with a digital map, so the computerof the car also has knowledge of the entire space around it.
The 360-degree collision avoidance platform is the safe identification of the car's position and environment. Four advanced laser scanners record the environment and identify reliable obstacles such as columns, for example, in a large car park. If the vehicle approaches a wall or column too quickly, the brake system activates automatically to prevent a collision. The vehicle stops with great accuracy of centimeters. If the driver turns the steering wheel, the system releases the brakes. This system helps the driver to park in low visibility areas with absolute safety and, like all BMW assistance systems, can be bypassed by the driver at any time.
BMW has been working on such systems for some time now and has tested 2009 and 2011 with fully automated systems. Other companies such as Tesla and Google, have introduced their own "autopilot" vehicles. So we are not too far from sleeping while traveling with our car, just as we can see in fantasy movies.
