Internet Explorer once dominated the market, mainly due to lack of competitors. The Microsoft browser has managed to hold for many years a percentage greater than 50 percent of the market.
This changed primarily with 2002's Firefox release.
In September 2008, however, with its release Google Chrome, both Internet Explorer and Firefox began to feel the vibrations under their feet.
Seven years after its launch, Chrome is used by 43% of Internet users on computers and mobile, according to the Statcounter.
This illustration you will see below was created by its user YouTube Viktor Bohush, and shows Chrome's dominance as it slowly grew its percentage of market share in the space of the last seven years.
