The ChatGPT app for Android is available on the Google Play Store. It launched today just months after the free iOS app brought the chatbot to iPhone and iPad. According to a tweet from the company, it's available in the US, India, Bangladesh and Brazil first, with other countries to follow later, mimicking the gradual rollout we saw for the iOS version as well.
The launch of an Android app comes after data from Sensor Tower and Similarweb showed a drop in ChatGPT's web traffic and app installs for the month of June.
ChatGPT for Android is now available for download in the US, India, Bangladesh, and Brazil! We plan to expand the rollout to additional countries over the next week. https://t.co/NfBDYZR5GI

ChatGPT was an explosive success until its launch Threads but it is unclear whether its success continues or has stagnated.
OpenAI's GPT-4 model already powers the Bing AI chatbot, which has been available on Android for several months, while Google's Bard AI currently only runs on a web page instead of a dedicated app.
Many technology companies are constantly developing tools with artificial intelligence for mobile apps, and so far, Apple has yet to release its own chatbot, but a recent report from Bloomberg showed us that the company already testing one (Apple GPT) internally.
