Google Chrome: 10 years of life

Google released the program tours Chrome like today 10 years ago. It was initially launched as a beta application only for the Windows platform before being developed for Linux and MacOS in 2009.

Google Chrome was released at a time when Internet developers and users were very disappointed by Internet Explorer and Firefox was the alternative.

Google used components from Apple's WebKit and Mozilla Firefox and made Chrome's source code available to the public as a Chromium. Chrome focuses on web templates and HTML5 and passed both Acid1 and Acid2 tests at the time they were released.
It was an important step at a time when Microsoft had an unacceptable Internet Explorer.

Ένα άλλο σημαντικό μέρος της πρώτης έκδοσης του Chrome ήταν η ιδέα του "sandboxing" στις ξεχωριστές καρτέλες του προγράμματος browsing. After a decade of Chrome, Chrome seems to be the dominant game, having now secured more than 60% of the market share of desktop browsers. Chrome developers continue to improve the app with new features and push the latest web templates. Chrome has now transformed into more than just a web browser and supports every Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and even iOS platform.

Ο Chrome συνεργάζεται άψογα με το Chrοme OS, το ελαφρύ λειτουργικό σύστημα της Google για φορητούς υπολογιστές. Το λειτουργικό μπορεί να μην είναι ακόμα έτοιμο για tablets, αλλά η Google έχει μεταφέρει με επιτυχία εφαρμογές του Android στο Chrοme OS για να κάνει τα Chromebooks και τα tablets ακόμα πιο χρήσιμα. The future of Chrome seems more and more that it is becoming a platform rather than a simple web browser.
