For quite some time now, the Internet Explorer is the most popular Browser in the world. But something seems to have changed. Google's Chrome seems to be rising in popularity among internet users, and continues to climb to the top spot.
Circumstantial? What has changed on Microsoft's side is the promotion of the new browser Edge. Consequently there is a decrease in the market share of Internet Explorer, and Chrome did not miss the opportunity to continue its march to the first place.
In March, Internet Explorer fell from 44.79% to 43.40%, while Chrome rose from a 36,56% to 39,09% market share. During the previous month, Firefox, Safari, and Opera also lost market share percentages, and the biggest losts was Firefox which dropped from 11,68% to 10,54%.
Microsoft's Edge showed a small increase in users but was not enough to explain the 1,39% decrease in Internet Explorer, which means that several users have decided to get rid of the Microsoft browser for Chrome.
At the same time, the use of Edge increased to 4,30% since February, which had 3,93%, an increase of 0,37%.
