Chromebooks first in sales left MacBooks behind

Teachers in the US (but in Europe) greatly choose and recommend to their students Chromebooks instead of their MacBooks Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), as well as Android tablets, according to a new survey.

According to a survey of the company NPD Group, Google's low-cost Chromebooks have outpaced Apple's MacBook sales thanks to the increase in education.

“Governments or IT departments are not rushing to buy them τα αυτά – που δεν εντυπωσιάζουν”, δήλωσε ο Tim Bajarin, πρόεδρος της Strategies.

Apple's MacBook and iPad sales declined this year, as competition from Android and Google Chrome has grown considerably, while Chromebooks and Android tablets are the biggest commercial growth they have ever had after selling 1.760.000 units in compared with just 400.000 units 2012.

But the reason is not only that:

"Some organizations are looking for low-cost devices that have a strong connection to Google services, such as Google Docs and Drive," he told Mashable ο Stephen baker, vice president in charge of industry analyst at NPD. ” Along with the form and price factor, Chromebooks are the most compelling choice for students and as they are full laptops.”

Microsoft Windows tablets had an increase in sales and this naturally affected Apple's sales.
Chromebooks accounted for 9,6% of the laptop and tablet market from January to November of 2013, compared to just one 0,2% that was in the 2012 period.
