Beginning today, the company CloudFlare will provide all customers, including those using the free version of their service, SSL certificates at no extra cost.
The project is part of the development of a new free service called Universal SSL. As the suggests name, is designed to provide the benefit of an encrypted connection between the client and the web server.
It is expected that the process will be completed for all existing customers by the end of the day.
“All our customers will now be able to automatically have an SSL certificate provisioned to network της ClοudFlare, που θα αποδέχεται συνδέσεις HTTPS στο domain και τα subdomains τους. Τα πιστοποιητικά περιλαμβάνουν μια καταχώρηση για το κεντρικό domain (π.χ. example.com), καθώς και μια είσοδο μπαλαντέρ για όλα τα subdomains πρώτου επιπέδου (π.χ. www.example.com, blog.example.com, κλπ),” αναφέρει ο Matthew Prince, Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος της ClοudFlare σε μια δημοσίευση στο blog of the company.
Matthew Prince also added that for the websites που δεν χρησιμοποιούσαν SSL πριν, η κίνηση από τον browser and CloudFlare will be automatically encrypted, but will not protect the site's web server.
